UNIVERSITY OF LAGOS CLOSED TILL FURTHER NOTICE

Students of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) have been asked to vacate the institution’s Akoka, Yaba campus with immediate effect.
The senate of the University of Lagos declared after an emergency meeting on April 7, 2016 that the school has been closed until further notice due to fuel scarcity, poor supply, etc. Some students had protested the incessant power outage in the school and poor power supply and had moved to meet with the management on Thursday, April 7, with a view to finding a lasting solution to the crisis. But rather than proffer a solution to the issues raised by the students, the management of the institution, rising from an emergency meeting on Thursday, ordered the students out of the institution. The institution's management further stated that the school has ceased from all academic activities till further notice. The senate said that the school would re-open when municipal services stabilize.
