The National Universities Commission, (NUC), has granted full accreditation status to the University of Uyo (uniuyo) pharmacy programme.
In a letter signed by the Deputy Executive Secretary of the Commission, Professor C. F. Mafiana, on behalf of the Executive Secretary; the programme was granted accreditation for a five-year period.
This follows an earlier full professional accreditation of the programme by the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria.
The vice chancellor of the school who reacted to the recemt development said the full accreditation of pharmacy programme in UNIUYO had proven wrong earlier news of the scrapping of the course in the school.
